First Login & Setup

After installing Companion Home, you can access the dashboard through your browser.

Open the Dashboard

Navigate to http://<your-server-ip> in your browser. If you configured a custom port during installation, use http://<your-server-ip>:<port>.

Create Your Account

On first visit, you’ll be prompted to create an admin account. Choose a strong password — this is the only account that can manage your Companion Home instance.

Configure Basic Settings

Once logged in, head to Settings to configure:

Your local domain (optional)
DNS settings
Error monitoring preferences

Connect to Companion Portal

For remote management, pair your device with the Portal. This enables remote access, the Cloudflare Gateway, and remote app installation.

Make sure to save your password securely. Companion Home stores credentials locally on your server.
