First Login & Setup
After installing Companion Hub, open the dashboard and create your account.

Create your account
On first visit, create an admin account with a strong password. This is separate from your Companion Portal account.
Complete the onboarding wizard
After login, the Onboarding Wizard configures AI, recommends apps, and optionally connects Tailscale — all on one page with a Finish setup button.
Configure settings
Visit Settings for domain, DNS, error monitoring (opt-in crash reports), and inference preferences.
Pair with Companion Portal (optional)
For remote management and the Cloudflare Gateway, pair your device with Portal. Hub works fully offline on your LAN without this step.
Store your admin password securely. Hub credentials are stored locally on your machine.
