First Login & Setup

After installing Companion Hub, you can access the dashboard through your browser.

Open the Dashboard

Navigate to http://<your-server-ip> in your browser. If you configured a custom port during installation, use http://<your-server-ip>:<port>.

Create Your Account

On first visit, you’ll be prompted to create an admin account. Choose a strong password — this is the only account that can manage your Companion Hub instance.

Complete the Onboarding Wizard

After creating your account and logging in, you’ll be guided through the Onboarding Wizard. It scans for existing services on your machine and helps you install open-source alternatives with one click.

Configure Basic Settings

Once logged in, head to Settings to configure:

  • Your local domain (optional)
  • DNS settings
  • Error monitoring preferences

Connect to Companion Portal

For remote management, pair your device with the Portal. This enables remote access, the Cloudflare Gateway, and remote app installation.

Make sure to save your password securely. Companion Hub stores credentials locally on your server.
